ROES Software
Q: I updated my Mac OSX version and did a System Update but now ROES won't open.
A: Over the past few months, Apple has made numerous changes to its OSX platform, which unfortunatley inclues the blocking of Java software. Our suggested solutions to this issue are categorized below by version:
If you are running OSX 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard), following this link will launch a browser with a download to Java 1.6.0_39, and once installed will allow ROES to function as normal.
If you are running OSX 10.7 (Lion) we recommend updating to version 10.7.5 using the Apple Software Update tool along with the latest version of Java 7 located here
Q: I am experiencing an extremely long delay when I click the "Folder" ... button using ROES on my Mac.
A: If you are currently running Java 7 on your Mac, there is a known issue with the folder button which gives an appearance that nothing is locted within your selected folders. Simply clicking "Cancel" followed by the "Folder" button once again will speed things along to a nearly immediate find of the folder contents.
Additionally, you can also navigate to the folder containg your images directly from your Hard Drive or Desktop and drag your images directly into ROES from the finder window.
Q: Can I open multiple orders in ROES?
A: Once you start uploading an order, you can immediately go back and start a new order! There is no need to wait for the first order to complete processing. However, please note that it is important to stay within the same program. If a second copy of ROES is launched while the first is still running, submitting a secind order will corrupt, or in some instances, duplicate the files.
Q: I'm experiencing sending errors using ROES on my Windows system.

Common Errors:
- ROES will not download or will get stuck.
- Orders will not send: progress bar doesn't move, or ROES says "Waiting …" when attempting to upload and order.
Q: What are the system requirements to run ROES?
A: Any computer less than 10 years old should be able to run ROES. The minimum system requirements are:
- 500mhz processor
- 256mb RAM
- 500mb free disk space
Q: ROES won't open on my computer, what's wrong?
A: ROES requires Java to run, so the first step is to ensure that Java is installed properly on your computer.
- For Windows machines, click "Start", then "Run". Type in cmd.exe and press Enter. Type in java -version
- On Mac OSX, open the Finder and go to the Applications folder. Open the Utilities folder, followed by Terminal. Type in java -version
Q: There are so many catalogs in ROES! Which catalog should I order from if just want regular photo prints?

Q: Where do I enter my promotion code in ROES?
A: You will have the opportunity to add your promotional codes at the end of your order once you have reached the "Review Order" tab, located in the bottom row of buttons on the ROES main screen. In this tab, you will see a summary of your order and in the options shown at the bottom of the window look for the "Promo/Coupon Codes" option. Please note that all promotioal codes are case sensitive and must be entered in all CAPS. If the code is valid, the promo code box will turn green once you push "Enter."
Q: How do I clear my ROES cache?
A: A simple clearing of your Java and browser cache may resolve any ROES issues.
- Windows Java Cache: Go to Start>Settings>Control Panel>Java and select the Cache or General Tab depending on your Windows version. From here, select "Clear JAR Cache" or "Delete Files".
- Mac OSX Java Cache: Macintosh Hard Drive>Applications Folder>Utilities>Java>Java Plug-in Settings>Cache>Clear Cache.

Q: How do I add a CD to my Color Corrected ROES order?
A: Click the 'Options' button. Click the 'Image Options' tab. Scroll down to select 'Burn artwork to CD'..
Q: How do I add Studio Supplies to my order?
A: Studio Supplies must be ordered separately. This is done by ordering through the 'Studio Supplies' catalog in ROES.
Q: What is Packager, and how do I use it?
A: The packager tool is available in your Color Inc ROES software, and is a useful feature for any photographer who needs to order any quantity of a single image in several different sizes. Packager helps take the work out of your hands by allowing ROES to automate it.

Q: What is Pager, and how do I use it?
A: The pager tool is available in your Color Inc ROES software, and is a useful feature that allows you to modify select products specified by the lab. Pager helps give you the freedom to add text, colors, image opacity, drop shadows and grid constraints to create your own unique products!
